The California Music Hall of Fame Announces New 2020 Inductees: Siedah Garrett, Mickey Dolenz, and cover band Lifetime Rocker

Temecula, Calif.- The California Music Hall of Fame, founded in 2013, is a non-profit organization that honors, recognizes, and celebrates all genres of music and the legacies behind the hits. The organization is committed to acknowledging the achievements of various musical professionals who represent California’s impact on the music industry.

Inductees elected into the California Music Hall of Fame range across many different musical professions, genres, and styles but have all had careers linked to the California music industry. Each inductee has contributed to this business by dedicating their lives to honoring California’s musical legacy. This year’s inductees are no different and will be honored in the upcoming CMHOF induction ceremony located in Temecula, CA.

CMHOF’s first honorary 2020 inductee is singer-songwriter Siedah Garrett, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, and Madonna. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Garrett has received nominations for several awards throughout her career and rose to fame in 2008 by winning a Grammy as a musical co-writer on the popular film, Dreamgirls. Garrett was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by The National R&B Music Society in 2017.

Also soon to be memorialized is the work of tribute band Lifetime Rocker, who will be the first-ever cover band inducted into the CMHOF. Voted “Best Cover Band - Inland Empire” by Inland Empire Magazine four years in a row, Lifetime Rocker holds a repertoire of over 400 songs across multiple decades and genres, covering hits from superstars like The Rolling Stones, Bruno Mars, and The Beatles. Priding themselves on playing songs as close to the originals as possible, this tribute band brings audiences back to the good old days of music by immortalizing some of the industry’s greatest performers.

Finally, American musician, actor, and director Mickey Dolenz will also join the ranks as one of California’s top musical legends. Starting off as an actor on the TV show The Monkees, Dolenz and his television bandmates took their acting chops to the real-life stage in 1966 by forming their own band, appropriately named The Monkees. Characterized as a jack of all trades in the music industry, Dolenz has since starred in several movies and TV shows, curated best-selling solo albums, and directed multiple theater performances across the country, making his name synonymous with California music.

These three elected inductees will be honored and celebrated at the Inaugural Class of 2020 Induction Ceremony, taking place in Temecula, CA on the weekend of January 23, 2022. Join the California Music Hall of Fame in recognizing these talented artists and solidifying their place in California’s music history.
