Strategic Communication Information Session

Strategic Communication Information Sessions Give Students Insight on Growing Opportunities in Communication

On Tuesday, October 26 from noon-1 p.m., Jessica Nerren, a public relations and strategic communication full-time lecturer at CSUSB, is holding a Zoom information session for students about the different explorative opportunities and career benefits within the strategic communication concentration.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the field of public relations to grow 7% by 2028, making a concentration in strategic communication even more beneficial and in demand for up-and-coming generations and graduates. Skillsets learned within the strategic communication concentration provide individuals with the luxury of working anywhere around the world with an average starting salary of $60,000 per year.

“I truly believe in the power of PR and Strategic Communication,” said Nerren. “Our concentration is amazing and we have prepared students who have gone on to work at NASA, the Library of Congress, and more. Sometimes our future students have questions and we want to make sure to do everything we can to be available to anticipate and answer their questions with information about what Strategic Communication is and where this concentration can take them.”
