Ditch the Cocktail, Paint with a Mocktail
Join San Bernardino’s New At-Risk Drop-In Youth Center for Paint and Sip
SAN BERNARDINO, California - To continue with their mission to empower San Bernardino’s at risk youth, Open Arms gladly presents another invitation for an evening to Paint and Sip. Those 14-25 years-old at-risk of being homeless are invited Friday, October 15, from 4-7 pm at 323 W. Seventh Street, San Bernardino.
Serving mocktails instead of cocktails as an inclusive way to have fun for all ages. Popular cocktails will be served without the alcohol: mojitos, pina coladas and margaritas. “Having fun doesn’t have to have alcohol involved at social gatherings. For the youth struggling with peer pressure at parties these drinks can be presented as a way to socially engage without placing themselves in a harmful situation.”
This event will be taking place indoors and we will be providing all of the art supplies. We will be having a special guest artist by the name of Julia Barry Parker. She has been a professional artist for seven years, believing art is a way to connect with the self. She loves to teach people new ways of self-discovery, not only as an artist but as a holistic practitioner.
Once again, donations of nonperishable food and hygiene products are always welcomed. Unfortunately, the center is not able to accept clothing donations at this time due to space.
