Come and Paint with Open Arms and Open Minds

Open arms welcomes local artist at Paint and Sip

SAN BERNARDINO, California - Open Arms will be hosting an art event welcoming special guest and artist Julia Barry Parker. The event will include sipping on mocktails while participating in some fun art with Julia. Those aged 14-25 are invited on Friday, October 15, from 4-7 pm at 323 W. Seventh Street, San Bernardino.

The theme of art will be a surprise; with seven years of professional experience, Julia stated she is planning on, “something structured that will also be something they can add their own flair to.”

Julia is a local artist from Idyllwild who has been working professionally on her art and as a holistic practitioner. She has been passionate about art and working at it her whole life. Julia believes that making art connects us with ourselves. Julia chose to get involved with Open Arms as she loves being able to teach people new ways of self-discovery through art.

Open Arms will be hosting monthly art events for at-risk youth, with the subject shifting depending on interest. They plan on doing art groups such as making zines(a small magazine that is written by people who are not professional writers and that usually has stories about a particular subject), poetry groups, and DIY projects.
